Grace Community Church of Riverside: To take Jesus Christ to lost people and lost people to Jesus Christ

Guest Chef

We've all seen them if we choose to look—the homeless families living in their cars, parents and children living meal to meal—but it's hard to know what to do about it. Path of Life Ministry has developed a program at King Hall that gives us a clear opportunity to serve these families as they transition to more permanent living. King Hall provides motel-like housing, job training, counseling and security for transitional families for as long as two years. Along with other churches, we help through the generous giving of our church family in the following ways.

We provide a meal each month where our dedicated Guest Chefs buy, prepare, serve and clean up a full meal with all it's trimmings for the residents at King Hall. Periodically, we purchase supplies like linens, small appliances, etc. to furnish rooms for new residents. We established and stock a pantry for the use of residents on the nights meals aren't prepared for them. We provide school supplies for each of the children at the beginning of the school year. And once a year we have the joy of giving gift cards to the parents and taking them shopping, if they need transporation, so each child at King Hall receives Christmas gifts.

We already have two teams of Guest Chefs, but you can still help by praying regularly for the residents, by giving to the Guest Chef hat at Connection Central, by helping us restock the pantry during our "Pack the Pantry" drives, by providing school supplies in the Back-to-School event, and by giving of your time to take residents shopping in December, making Christmas a very special season.

If you would like more information about any of these ministries, please call the church office at 951-352-8685.
