Weddings at Grace Community Church are part of our ministry of “making disciples” of Jesus Christ. For this reason, weddings at Grace are limited to couples who have received Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, have been baptized since that decision, and regularly attend Grace Community Church.
Free, premarital counseling is provided to the couple because our goal is not simply to perform a wedding ceremony, but to help couples enter marriage with a strong foundation and a clear commitment to honoring the Lord. With that in mind, the officiating pastor may recommend postponing the wedding if he believes additional time, preparation, or pastoral care would help provide a stronger foundation for their marriage. He may also determine that he cannot perform the ceremony if the couple’s current relationship is not honoring to the Lord.
We also believe that both the wedding ceremony and reception should honor the Lord Jesus Christ. Because of this, the wedding ceremony, music selections for both the wedding and reception, and beverages served at the reception must be reviewed by the pastor before he agrees to officiate the wedding.
